Your Personalized Journey Through Our MBA Program

Semester 1: Foundations

Master the fundamentals of accounting, analytics, leadership, and marketing strategies to gain the skills needed to apply them to real-world situations with our Financial Management, Analytics, Organizational Behavior, and Marketing modules in the first term. This term of your Master’s Business degree will equip you with the knowledge and tools to manage and lead effectively in today’s fast-paced business environment.

Semester 2: Foundations

The second term delves into Communications, Interpersonal Skills and Negotiation, Strategy, Information, Technology and Digital Transformation, and Macroeconomics. This ensures you have a comprehensive understanding of the latest technological innovations, environmental advancements, and political trends shaping the business world, and how you can leverage them to drive change.

Semester 3: Specialization

In the third term, you will pick three of the following specializations: Research Methods Business Planning, Entrepreneurship, Regulatory Environments, Ethics and CSR. During this term, you will develop the ability to conduct research, analyze data using quantitative and qualitative tools, communicate your findings, and master the fundamentals of successful entrepreneurship.

Semester 4: Applications

The final semester allows students to integrate and apply their knowledge with a Consulting Study, Business Plan Development, or Major Research Paper. Depending on the area you wish to focus on, you will work with an organization in the public, private or non-profit sector, develop a start-up business plan, or produce a professionally written research report that applies a research method to collect and analyze data.

Fund Your Future

The total tuition for our Master of Business Administration program is $24,000 for domestic students and $36,000 for international students. There are three semesters a year, totaling 42 credits. Two semesters are equivalent to one year.

We believe in investing in students’ futures and are passionate about making education accessible. To be considered for the International Business University Financial Aid Program, applicants must have Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, and be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester (in-class and/or online).

Admission Requirements for Direct Entry

Domestic and international students (including current Ontario university graduates, graduates, and out-of-province Canadian students) interested in applying to IBU may do so directly by completing an online application form.

*The GMAT requirement may be waived for applicants who have a minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years of executive/managerial experience.

**If you do not hold a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), or equivalent business degree, you may be required to complete two bridging courses. 

Bridging Courses:

  • Quantitative Methods for Business
  • Introduction to Business

Applicants whose first language is not English and who have completed fewer than 4 consecutive years of study in an English-speaking country must show evidence of their English language proficiency by providing an official English language proficiency certificate (i.e. TOEFL, IELTS or the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment – CAEL).

International Students

If the international student’s official language of instruction in the undergraduate degree (at least 3 years full-time) was English, and they achieved a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent and a GMAT score over 560, they will be required to submit an official foreign undergraduate degree transcript.

If the official language of instruction in the foreign undergraduate program was not English and the native language of the student is not English, proof of proficiency in English is required. Submission of the official transcript and results of the English Language Proficiency Test are required, as well as a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent and a GMAT score over 560.

International students will require a valid study permit.

Mature Students

Mature students will be able to apply directly to the MBA program. Their applications will be considered individually, and they may need to complete prerequisite subjects.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum admission requirements and do not have an undergraduate degree but show potential for success in graduate-level study, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, extensive work experience and volunteer experience at a managerial level is expected.

Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements of proof of proficiency in English and achieve a GMAT score over 560, and may be assessed for experience and performance in a number of education/training courses.

Applicants must provide all application materials and a minimum 3-5 page essay outlining their desire to earn an MBA in Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Transfer Students

Applicants may apply for admission based on previous studies completed in good standing at an accredited postsecondary university.

Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements as well as a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent, and a GMAT score over 560.

Applicants must submit official transcripts from their transferring program and postsecondary university.

Proof of English proficiency may be required on a case-by-case basis.

  • Official transcripts for all previous undergraduate studies (if applicable)
  • A CV detailing work experience, skills, voluntary engagement, and interests
  • A Statement of Purpose of approximately 1000 words, outlining your reasons for pursuing an MBA, your career objectives, and how your previous studies and experience have prepared you for the program
  • Reference letters (minimum of 2)
  • A minimum GMAT score of 560 (unless waived)
  • Proof of English proficiency (if applicable)
