What support services are available for international students, such as orientation programs, academic advising, and counselling services?

01. Health and Wellness
If you are experiencing health issues and do not have a family doctor, the staff in Enrolment Services will provide you with the name of a local walk-in medical clinic. Enrolment Services can also suggest vision care, dental care, pharmacy, and counselling options available in the IBU neighbourhood.

02. Medical and Dental Plan
As an international student enrolled in a full-time degree program at International Business University, you must have mandatory health insurance prior to starting your classes. At IBU, you have access to health coverage through guard.me
guard.me offers a comprehensive health insurance plan that covers all registered international students at International Business University. This insurance policy provides coverage for emergency medical services. To know more, please contact Student Support Services on campus.

03. Counselling
No matter if you are dealing with a new school, career, or city, or you are just feeling overwhelmed by things happening in your life. Having someone to connect with and talk to is always the most important thing. At IBU there is always a helping hand and someone who will listen. Students can reach out to their Enrollment Officers who will guide them and direct them to the right resources whenever needed.

04. Accessibility
Academic Accommodation supports students with diagnosed disabilities through the development of Academic Accommodation Plans that the student can share with faculty and staff. These can include, for example, the allocation of longer times for tests or requests for a note-taker. Course materials follow AODA standards and are developed and available in digital form in the Learning Management System for easier use with accessibility tools. Our campus has been designed to accommodate those with physical challenges such as wheelchair access. IBU is committed to ensuring that you are treated fairly and equitably. IBU engages to provide accessible learning spaces and learning materials, as well as required accommodations to allow you access to the support you need to succeed.
IBU upholds and affirms the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

05. Campus Life
