Agnes Di Leonardi, C.M.
Biography:
Agnes Di Leonardi is a distinguished governance leader with over 25 years of experience guiding boards and executive teams through complex regulatory landscapes and organizational transformations. A former Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for prominent multi-national and public entities—including Mazda Canada, Ford Motor Company of Canada, and Coventree Inc.—she brings the specialized expertise required to lead in the board room.
Agnes is a specialist in Board and Committee operations, known for elevating governance frameworks and ensuring robust fiduciary oversight within private and public company environments. With a background as a “Bay Street” corporate-commercial lawyer, she possesses the regulatory agility necessary to manage diverse stakeholder interests.
Agnes is a founding director of The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conferences Canada, a Canadian charity with a mission to develop critical leadership competencies through cross sectoral peer-to-peer experiential learning programs. She most recently served as General Counsel for Sym-Tech Dealer Services where she led the in-house Regulatory and Compliance team.
Agnes was appointed to a Member of the Order of Canada in 2018 in recognition of her leadership in the automotive industry and for her work with the International Women’s Forum of Canada. She has also served on the board of directors of Mazda Canada, the International Women’s Forum, the YWCA of Greater Toronto, and Women’s College Hospital Foundation. She holds an Honours BBA from the Schulich School of Business, an LLB from Windsor Law School and an Honourary Doctor of Laws from the University of Windsor. Agnes is a continuous learner and believes in “leader as teacher”.
