Admission to programs/courses at IBU vary depending on the applicant’s category:
High School Applicants:
- Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Recommended minimum average of 70% in six courses at the 4U or 4M level or equivalent, including Grade 12 English (ENG4U level or equivalent) and Grade 12 Math (U/M level), as well as four other Grade 12 courses at the U/M level.
- Required to provide official high school transcripts, a completed online application form, and proof of English Proficiency if required.
Mature Students:
- Must be 19 or older before the program begins.
- Have not achieved an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or its equivalent and have not engaged in formal education for at least 2 years before applying.
- Will be evaluated on the successful completion of courses at the post-secondary level or through proficiency assessments.
- Required to provide official transcripts from all institutions attended, a completed online application, a resume, and proof of English Proficiency if required.
Other Post-Secondary Institutions Applicants:
- May enter after completing a two or three-year college/university program and will be assessed for admission on a case-by-case basis.
- May be considered for transfer credits.
- Required to provide official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, detailed course descriptions if applying for transfer credits, and a completed online application form.
- Must meet a minimum overall IELTS Academic score of 6 with no less than 6 in each ability or equivalent.
