Capstone Project
The Capstone Project is a component of IBU’s MBA in Financial and Management Analytics program, enabling students to address real-world challenges in data-driven financial management. This project allows students to apply their analytical skills to practical scenarios, ensuring their readiness for leadership roles in the financial sector.
- Financial Analytics Application: Students use tools like Excel, R, Python, Tableau, and Power BI to analyze and communicate data for complex financial challenges.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Focus on modelling, forecasting, and optimizing outcomes like profitability, risk, valuation, and budgeting.

Bridging Courses:
*If you do not hold a Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), or equivalent business degree, you may be required to complete two bridging courses.

Quantitative Methods for Business
Introduction to Business
Applicants whose first language is not English and who have completed fewer than 4 consecutive years of study in an English-speaking country must show evidence of their English language proficiency by providing an official English language proficiency certificate (i.e. TOEFL, IELTS or the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment – CAEL).
International Students
If the international student’s official language of instruction in the undergraduate degree (at least 3 years full-time) was English, and they achieved a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent and a GMAT score over 560, they will be required to submit an official foreign undergraduate degree transcript.
If the official language of instruction in the foreign undergraduate program is not English and the native language of the student is not English, proof of proficiency in English is required. Submission of the official transcript and results of the English Language Proficiency Test is required, as well as a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent and a GMAT score over 560.
International students will require a valid study permit.
Mature Students
Mature students will be able to apply directly to the MBA program. Their applications will be considered individually, and they may need to complete prerequisite subjects.
Applicants who do not meet the minimum admission requirements and do not have an undergraduate degree but show potential for success in graduate-level study will be considered on a case-by-case basis. However, extensive work experience and volunteer experience at a managerial level is expected.
Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements of proof of proficiency in English and achieve a GMAT score over 560 and may be assessed for experience and performance in a number of education/training courses.
Applicants must provide all application materials and a minimum 3-5 page essay outlining their desire to earn an MBA in Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
Transfer Students
Applicants may apply for admission based on previous studies completed in good standing at an accredited postsecondary university.
Applicants must meet the standard admission requirements as well as a minimum of a B+ GPA or equivalent, and a GMAT score over 560.
Applicants must submit official transcripts from their transferring program and postsecondary university.
English Proficiency
Proof of English proficiency may be required on a case-by-case basis.
Documents and Fees
All applicants are required to submit the following documents and fees:
A completed online application form
A non-refundable application fee
Official transcripts for all previous undergraduate studies (if applicable)
A CV detailing work experience, skills, voluntary engagement, and interests
A Statement of Purpose of approximately 1000 words, outlining your reasons for pursuing an MBA, your career objectives, and how your previous studies and experience have prepared you for the program
Reference letters (minimum of 2)
A minimum GMAT score of 560 (unless waived)
Proof of English proficiency (if applicable)
A minimum overall IELTS Academic score of 6 and no less than 6 in each ability or equivalent.
How to Apply for Our MBA Program in Canada
Submit your application with the documents listed in Step 2.
Once your application is completed, your file will be submitted for consideration to the Admissions team at International Business University. IBU can only evaluate applications with the following documents included:
- Official Transcripts of all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended.
- Resume
- Letter of Intent.
- Reference letters
- International Business University may request foreign transcripts to be evaluated by an IBU-approved international credentialing service such as WES, ICAS.
- English proficiency test score results. IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo are accepted. The score must be within 2 years.
A decision is made and communicated to you from IBU Registrar’s Office. At that point, accepted students will need to then pay their deposit in order to receive their final Letter of Acceptance and start your study.
Once you have received your Letter of Acceptance, you will need to work towards paying the balance of your remaining tuition fees.
It should be noted that as a IBU student you are obliged to pay each term’s tuition fees before the start of each term.
International students should send their approved visa (if applicable) and update any contact information by emailing registrar@ibu.ca to receive all important correspondence from the university.
