Support Services
Health and Wellness
If you are experiencing health issues and do not have a family doctor, staff in Enrolment Services will provide you with the name of a local walk-in medical clinic. Enrolment Services can also suggest vision care, dental care, pharmacy, and counselling options available in the IBU neighbourhood.
For emergencies, go directly to one of the nearby hospitals. Two of the closest are:
- Toronto General Hospital: 200 Elizabeth St
- Women’s College Hospital: 76 Grenville St, Toronto
Medical and Dental Plan
We offer the GuardMe Student Support Program as our Mental Health Counselling Program. This program provides students with real-time access to counselors through the TELUS Health Student Support app. Since this service is unlimited and free for our students as part of our partnership with GuardMe, we do not intend to add any additional fees to IBU’s fee structure for mental health services.
In addition to GuardMe Student Support Program, IBU has partnered with Reflections Mental Health Group, they understand the unique mental health needs of university students. Their clinic offers accessible, virtual, evidence-based therapy, to support you through issues like anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, ADHD, trauma, and anger management. Whether you’re adjusting to a new environment, facing relationship struggles, or managing academic pressure, their dedicated team of registered therapists are here to help you thrive emotionally and mentally. Our therapist will work collaboratively with you to set goals and develop a treatment plan. Taking the first step toward better mental health can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. Your mental health matters, and Reflections Mental Health Group is here to offer ongoing support, no matter what challenges arise.
Counselling
No matter if you are dealing with a new school, a new career, a new city or maybe you are just feeling overwhelmed by things happening generally in your life. Having someone to connect with and talk to is always the most important thing. At IBU there is always a helping hand and someone who will listen. Students can reach out to their Enrolment Officers who will guide them and direct them to the right resources whenever needed.
Accessibility
Academic Accommodation supports students with diagnosed disabilities through the development of Academic Accommodation Plans that the student can share with faculty and staff. These can include, for example, allocation of longer times for tests or requests for a note taker. Course materials follow AODA standards and are developed and available in digital form in the Learning Management System for easier use with accessibility tools.
Our campus has been designed to accommodate those with physical challenges such as wheelchair access.
IBU is committed to ensuring that you are treated fairly and equitably.
IBU upholds and affirms the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Contact AccessAbility Services if you believe you require accommodations to succeed in your studies.
Our Campus
Our campus space is being designed to include large common room areas conducive to group discussions. Extra-curricular activities on campus will include seminars, conferences and workshops, involving faculty and partners from local and international business, as well as non profit and public sector organizations. These activities will be augmented by conferences drawing together scholars, businesspeople, and public policy experts to explore key challenges and emerging priorities in business today.

Academic Advising and Support
One of your professors will be assigned to you as your academic advisor.
