Dr. Ali Jalili

Biography:

Dr. Ali Jalili is a Faculty Member at International Business University (IBU). He specializes in research methods, cancer immunology, hematology, molecular diagnostics, and the application of artificial intelligence in molecular medicine.

With more than 15 years of academic, research, and clinical laboratory experience across Japan, Canada, and Iran, Dr. Ali Jalili brings a rigorous, evidence-based approach to research and innovation. His research has examined stem cell trafficking, cancer progression, immunotherapy for multiple myeloma, and new biomarkers for disease diagnosis. His recent work explores how AI can identify novel cancer-specific markers. He has also served as a Visiting Scientist with the Research Group of Mathematical Medicine at the University of Waterloo.

At IBU, he teaches Information Technology and Digital Transformation and Research Methods in the MBA program, and Technology Trends and Implications in the Bachelor of Commerce program. His teaching draws on his experience leading research teams and laboratories, helping students apply structured research and analytical thinking to technology-driven business challenges.

Academic and Professional Contributions:

Dr. Ali Jalili served as Associate Professor at Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, where he was Head of the Department of Pathobiology and Director of the Cancer and Immunology Research Center. He also directed a clinical diagnostic laboratory, and he served on educational, research, and doctoral examination committees. He has supervised 25 MSc and 4 PhD students, and received a Teaching Excellence Award.

He has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed research articles, including publications in Blood, The Journal of Immunology, and Stem Cells. His postdoctoral research was supported by a Canadian Blood Services Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, and he received the Top Biological Sciences Abstract award from the Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine. His work reflects a commitment to research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
