Dr. Amena Shahid

Biography:

Dr. Amena Shahid, DBA, MBA, is a Professor at International Business University (IBU) in Toronto, Canada. She specializes in organizational behavior, leadership, and human resource management.

Her research focuses on the human side of organizations, including leadership, trust, recognition, employee engagement, and workplace relationships. Her academic work includes peer-reviewed publications and the development of the CALL framework (Challenges, Adaptation, Leadership, and Learning). Her current research also explores human-centered HRM, psychological safety, employee innovation, and trust during AI adoption.

Dr. Shahid has taught at several Canadian universities and colleges in areas such as organizational behavior, leadership, research methods, strategic management, and project management. She brings research and practical workplace examples into the classroom to connect management theory with organizational practice.

Academic and Professional Contributions

Dr. Shahid serves as a peer reviewer for academic journals and organizations, including the Academy of Management, Human Resource Development Quarterly, and Journal of Leadership Studies. She also reviews academic textbooks for Canadian Scholars Press.

Her academic leadership experience includes roles in teaching and learning, continuing education, international relations, faculty development, curriculum development, and research ethics. She has also received Teaching Excellence and Administrative Excellence awards.

Before and alongside her academic career, Dr. Shahid gained industry experience in human resource management and entrepreneurship.
