Biography:
Dr. Cem Dogan is a Faculty Member at International Business University (IBU). He specializes in political economy, economic development, economic policy, globalization, and income distribution.
With more than 25 years of academic experience, Dr. Cem Dogan brings deep expertise in economic theory and policy analysis. He served as an Associate Professor of Economics at Mustafa Kemal University in Türkiye, where he taught microeconomics, macroeconomics, monetary theory and policy, and international economics. In Canada, he has been an Affiliated Scholar with the University of Toronto’s Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations and a Researcher with the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Wilfrid Laurier University.
At IBU, he teaches Macroeconomics in the MBA program and Applied Economics in the Bachelor of Commerce program. His teaching connects economic theory with current policy issues, helping students understand how macroeconomic forces shape business decisions and global markets.
Academic and Professional Contributions:
Dr. Cem Dogan has published widely in international and national peer-reviewed journals on trade forecasting, foreign direct investment, economic growth, unemployment, tax revenues, and income distribution. He has also written books and book chapters on economic policy, innovation economics, public finance, and microeconomic analysis. His research on the effect of economic and financial policies on income distribution received Second Prize in the Finance Research Experts Foundation Research Competition.
He has supervised graduate theses on topics including corruption economics, global financial crises, and social globalization. He has advised undergraduate and graduate students throughout his career. His work reflects a commitment to rigorous analysis, critical thinking, and helping students understand the economic context in which businesses operate.
