Biography:
Shamim Ahmed is a faculty member specializing in Public Health, with expertise in global and population health and a strong focus on health equity. His research spans water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), child and maternal health, vaccine hesitancy, and the social determinants of health, with emphasis on equity, diversity, and inclusion. He brings robust mixed‑methods research experience and strong strengths in knowledge mobilization to inform policy and practice. Shamim has worked with leading public health and development organizations including WaterAid Bangladesh, Unity Health Toronto (St. Michael’s Hospital), BRAC and BRAC University, Social Marketing Company, CARE Bangladesh, MEASURE Evaluation/USAID supporting Government of Bangladesh policy work, and World Vision. His work bridges research, policy, and community impact across global contexts.
