Dr. Yasser Ghoreishi

Biography:

Dr. Yasser Ghoreishi is a Faculty Member at International Business University (IBU). He specializes in financial management, accounting, financial analytics, business ethics, and the economics of sustainable agriculture.

With more than 30 years of experience in accounting, auditing, finance, and teaching, Dr. Yasser Ghoreishi brings strong practical insight into the classroom. His doctoral research examined the profitability of organic farming in Ontario, applying cost accounting, externality analysis, and supply chain efficiency to a growing sector of the Canadian economy. His interdisciplinary approach connects financial management with ethics, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

At IBU, he teaches Financial Management, Financial Analytics and Projections, and the MBA Capstone in the MBA program, and serves as Course Lead for Financial Analytics and Projections. In the Bachelor of Commerce program, he teaches Advanced International Finance, Introduction to Financial Analysis, and Law and Ethics in a Business Context. In 2026, an MBA capstone project he supervised won first place in IBU’s Capstone Applied Research Award. He has also taught accounting and finance at Seneca Polytechnic, Conestoga College, and Niagara College Toronto.

Academic and Professional Contributions:

Dr. Yasser Ghoreishi is a Partner at M Trust Accounting, providing financial reporting and tax advisory services to individuals and small and medium-sized businesses. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Financial Analyst with the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario (CMA Ontario). He also served as a Senior Auditor with a chartered accounting firm, where he led audit teams across manufacturing, construction, hospitality, and agricultural enterprises.

He serves as Associate Editor of the American Journal of Agriculture and Forestry and as an editorial team member of the Journal of Business, Management and Intelligent System. He was a keynote presenter at the Canada Organic Trade Association’s Organic Summit and has published on cost accounting, externalities, and supply chain efficiency in organic agriculture. At IBU, he also serves on the Program Advisory Committee for the MSc in Supply Chain Management. At Laurentian University, he served on the Senate and the Board of Governors.
