Hamidreza Rahbar

Biography:

Hamid Rahbar is a Faculty Member at International Business University (IBU). He specializes in management, organizational behaviour, project management, data analytics, and change management.

With nearly 30 years of combined experience in technology, business, and higher education, Hamid Rahbar brings a practical, industry-informed perspective to the classroom. He has taught MBA and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) courses in marketing, organizational design, organizational behaviour, managerial skills, team dynamics, and change management at the University of Tehran. His teaching is interactive and discussion-based, using case studies and students’ own experiences to connect theory with practice.

At IBU, he teaches Business Analytics, Managing IT Projects, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation (online) in the MBA program. In the Bachelor of Commerce program, he teaches Project Management, Data Analytics for Business, and Advanced Data Analysis.

Academic and Professional Contributions:

Hamid Rahbar has extensive experience in academic program management. At the University of Tehran, he designed and implemented the DBA curriculum in line with industry standards, managed MBA and DBA programs, and supervised 10 DBA theses. He also helped launch the first IT-specialized MBA program in Iran, aligning its content with international business school standards.

He is currently a Data Analyst at Home Hardware, where he builds and optimizes Power BI reporting using AI-assisted data preparation. As Product Manager at the University of Tehran E-learning Centre, he launched a MOOC platform with 100 courses that attracted more than 7,600 learners in two years. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade leading ERP system development and business process reengineering projects. He has also held marketing and business development leadership roles and coached start-ups on marketing strategy, financial analysis, and business planning. His research on vehicular network routing, completed at the University of Waterloo, was published by IEEE.
