Biography:

Michael Lusignan is a Faculty Member at International Business University (IBU). He specializes in financial management, financial analytics, and accounting education. 

With more than 15 years of experience in financial services, accounting, and technology-driven business transformation, Michael brings a strong practical perspective to finance and accounting education. His graduate research examined blockchain technology and Canadian corporate fixed income securities, reflecting his interest in how emerging technologies are reshaping finance. 

At IBU, he teaches Financial Management, Financing and Valuing Ventures, Financial Analytics and Projections, Accounting and Financial Management for Healthcare, and Capstone Applied Research in the MBA program. Michael also teaches in the accounting area at the Schulich School of Business at York University, and the Advanced Professional Accounting program at York University’s School of Continuing Studies. 

Academic and Professional Contributions:

Michael Lusignan is the CEO and Co-Founder of Chionyx Systems Inc., a Toronto-based technology services company that provides terrain risk intelligence insights before deploying equipment. 

Michael has over a decade of experience with a Canadian financial institution in personal and business banking and wealth management. He has also served as a Program Director with Lassonde Professional Development, Lassonde School of Engineering at York University.

He is a past board member of The BlockchainHub, a York University innovation hub for blockchain education, research, and commercialization.

Michael is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a member of CPA Ontario. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Business Law from York’s Osgoode Hall Law School and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
