Serdar Mutlu

Biography:

Serdar Mutlu is Chair of the Board of Governors at International Business University (IBU). He holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Istanbul (1981), and completed his MSc and PhD at the University of Bristol, where he later served as a lecturer.
During his time at Bristol, he contributed to academic research through publications and secured multiple research grants, receiving the Colgate Research Award in 1992. He later returned to Istanbul and was appointed Vice-Dean at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Dentistry.

Academic and Institutional Contributions:

Serdar Mutlu has been involved in academic publishing and institutional development. He founded the Newsletter of the International Academy of Periodontology and served as its editor for five years.
He has also held senior administrative roles in higher education, including Vice President of a Board of Governors, contributing to governance and institutional growth within a large university environment.

IBU and Educational Leadership:

Since relocating to Canada in 2012, Serdar Mutlu has been focused on the development of International Business University. He has played a central role in shaping its mission, vision, and academic direction.
His work at IBU includes building a multidisciplinary team and supporting the establishment of an independent university model in Canada, with an emphasis on academic quality and long-term institutional development.
