Dr. Rahim Karim is currently Associate Vice President - Partnerships, Pathways and Internationalization at Centennial College in Toronto. He has strong leadership experience in the education and health sectors and has been an administrator, educator and clinician. In the post-secondary sector, he has held previous positions of Manager, Education Coordinator, Assistant Dean, Dean of Clinics (including Chief of Staff) and Chairperson. He has been the Dean, School of Community and Health Studies at Centennial College. Dr. Karim has successfully owned and operated multiple health care clinics. He has also served as faculty having taught and/or coordinated a variety of courses. Dr. Karim has worked in both Canada and the United States. He has a broad perspective on the workings of the postsecondary system with experience in strategic planning, partnerships, internationalization, governance, financial planning, risk management, policy making and fundraising. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at various local and international conferences. Dr. Karim has considerable committee and board experience and is an active community volunteer. Dr. Karim holds a BSc, Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and an MBA. He also holds a professional certificate in Strategic Decision and Risk Management from Stanford University and is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) through the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Dr. Karim has completed the Advanced Good Governance training from Colleges Ontario and holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is the recipient of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers (Canadian Honour) from the Governor General of Canada.
