International Students

International applicants must meet all standard MBA admission requirements in Canada and provide documentation of valid immigration status for study in Canada.

Additional requirements for international students include:

  • Valid Canadian study permit
  • Official transcripts evaluated by an IBU-approved international credentialing service such as WES or ICAS, if documents are from a non-Canadian institution
  • English proficiency test scores: minimum overall IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band below 6.0, or an accepted equivalent (TOEFL, Duolingo, or other IBU-approved tests). Scores must be dated within two years.
  • Letter of Intent

Applicants whose first language is not English and who have completed fewer than four consecutive years of study at an English-speaking institution must provide official English language proficiency documentation.

International students graduating from IBU MBA programs, may be eligible for a three-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Visit ibu.ca/international-students for further information.

The IBU Admissions team reviews your file. All of the following must be included for evaluation:

  • Official transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended
  • Letter of Intent
  • Foreign transcript evaluation by an IBU-approved credentialing service (e.g., WES or ICAS), if applicable
  • English proficiency test scores (IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, or equivalent) dated within two years

A decision is issued by the IBU Registrar’s Office. Accepted applicants must pay the deposit to receive a formal Letter of Acceptance.
